We'd suggest you give this article a miss if you do not happen to possess the necessary intestinal fortitude - after all, we're talking about a computer mouse that brings the truth much closer to home than what we're used to. The Mouse Mouse, as it is called for obvious reasons, comprises of a preserved mouse skin that wraps the innards of a computer mouse, complete with a slit cut out at the top of the mouse's back in order for the scroll wheel to function as it should. Creepy! We wonder what would happen after months of using this mouse - will all our sweat be soaked up by the dead rodent?

BMW has already clearly shown that it wants to make its cars as smart as possible, and it looks like that extends right down to the doors, which have now been smartened up with a little help from the Technical University of Munich. According to New Scientist, the pair have developed a prototype door that uses a range of sensors to detect any oncoming dangers, and work in concert with an accelerometer in the door to prevent it from being opened. What's more, the sensors are apparently also able to detect the proximity of the object and adjust the resistance of the door accordingly -- for instance, slowing the door down if you're about to slam it into a lamp post. The current prototype does apparently have a bit of a problem when it comes to field of view, however, although BMW says that can be remedied with some added cameras in future versions, which could possibly be in actual cars in as little as a year -- though it's quick to point out that it hasn't made a final decision just yet

We knew wireless USB would eventually rise up and become more than a pitiful excuse for not plugging in your digicam to transfer photos, and lo and behold, it has done just that. Imation's latest Apollo drive packs a lot of promise, thanks in huge part to the integrated WiQuest WUSB solution tucked within. Put simply, the Apollo Pro WX can begin to backup user data as soon as the machine in question comes "into range." Without any wires (save for that pesky AC adapter), this one no-touch backup system can ensure that your most precious 1s and 0s aren't lost for eternity when unforeseen disaster strikes. There's no word on price just yet, but expect these to sell like hotcakes when they ship in Q4.

While folks 'round these parts are only just now getting their first real taste of WiMAX, Motorola is already looking towards a WiMAX-filled future, where it hopes devices like its X24 concept module will let even your car tap into all that bandwidth floating through the air. Apparently, the device is designed specifically with advanced automotive telemetry in mind, although, as Motorola's Manash Goswami mentions in the interview available at the read link below, the company also isn't ignoring the possibilities for in-car entertainment and other applications. It also sees the chipset at the heart of the X24, the WTM1000, being used in an even broader range of consumer devices, and not just ones made by Motorola. Look for more word on that to come out of the WiMAX World conference next week

Fabrik's SimpleTech brand initially pushed out its Pro external drives and online backup service around this time last year, but thankfully it finally figured out what we consumers want: that it keep up with the capacity curve. The firm's Duo Pro drive, which boasts four interfaces (eSATA, FireWire 400 / 800 and USB 2.0), will be available in Q4 with 3TB of room. As for its smaller sibling, you can expect the single-drive 1.5TB Pro model to land around the same time for a definitively different unknown price.

Lenovo's S10 has already been unboxed and reviewed, but if you've been waiting to see what this thing is really made of, your wait is finally over. The netbook has been cautiously disassembled over at Liliputing, so if you're interested in seeing what makes this thing so warm under pressure, tap the read link and enjoy.

Come on, the picture tells the whole story, does it not? The $14 Super Kid 4-port USB hub gives you four of the funnest USB 2.0 ports you'll ever have, and the arms / legs are totally pliable, too. Just don't overload him with USB-powered lamps and cooling devices -- a boy can only handle so much

Can't find a way to keep Junior occupied other than video games? Well, maybe you can give the Fingertip Keyboard Gloves a shot. These children's gloves will play musical notes whenever the fingertips are tapped against just about any flat surface. Individual gloves will be able to play an entire octave in the key of C, while pressing the heel of the hand will change the middle three fingers to final notes A, B and C to complete the scale. Both gloves are hooked up to an integrated speaker unit via a wire, enabling you to experience a decent volume and tempo control for up to 8 different tones such as violin, madolin and piano among others. This USB-rechargeable device can be yours for $69.95.

Go green with the iYo induction charger, as this Peter Thuvander-inspired concept design features a tiny lithium ion battery within the yo-yo, charging up during play so that you can plug in other exhausted electronic devices later to juice them up. The iYo charger does both the iPhone and iPod (pretty obvious from the naming convention) , but unfortunately for us (and mother nature), this is but a concept that won't likely see it roll out from manufacturing lines just yet.

C-Motech is first off the blocks to release the maiden dual-mode WiMax/EV-DO USB dongle in the world at CTIA Wireless in San Francisco. Known as the CMU-300, this device is 100% compatible with the IEEE 802.16e-2005 WiMax standard in addition to EV-DO Rev A or HSDPA wireless networks. Perfect for folks who need a connection no matter where they are, 24/7, as relying on either is the perfect fail-proof plan. After all, with the WiMax blanket slated for aggressive expansion across various cities in the country sometime in the future, it makes perfect sense to invest in one of these when available
